Role Description This is a full‑time on‑site role for a
Payroll Specialist
located in
Wichita, KS . The Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for both field and office employees, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payments. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying timesheets, processing adjustments, and maintaining compliance with union agreements, prevailing wage laws, and all federal, state, and local tax regulations. The role also involves managing project‑based payroll allocations for accurate job costing and financial reporting, preparing and filing payroll taxes, reconciling year‑end reports, and distributing W‑2s and 1099s. Additionally, this position serves as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and supports payroll system maintenance to ensure it effectively handles complex pay structures, union requirements, and project‑specific needs.
Qualifications
Skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing
Experience with Payroll Taxes and Payroll Services
Knowledge of Garnishments
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of payroll software and systems
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience in the construction or similar industry is a plus
