Pactiv Evergreen is now a part of Novolex, a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging. The plant located in Kinston, NC manufactures paper cups and cartons and employs over 250 people. Novolex is committed to sustainable choices, continuous R&D, and a manufacturing network spanning North America and Europe, including plastic film recycling centers.
Responsibilities
Oversee plant‑level talent acquisition, onboarding, and orientation for hourly and salaried positions.
Develop and implement talent management programs, including leader assimilations, learning and development, and succession planning.
Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports, supporting career growth and advancement.
Collaborate with union representatives to enforce collective bargaining agreements and support contract negotiations.
Build a high‑performing, values‑led culture by improving employee engagement and driving change management initiatives.
Administer best‑in‑class HR programs, ensuring full compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
Analyze people data trends, identify opportunities, and collaborate with plant management on people programs that support productivity and retention.
Partner with Centers of Excellence to facilitate information exchange and problem solving.
Complete investigations and ensure payroll compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
BS/BA in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Communications, or related field is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
Occasional travel, 15%.
Must possess analytical skills to diagnose HR data trends and link them to plant performance.
Strong change management and project management skills.
Experience driving culture and engagement strategies.
Strong talent management experience, assessing talent gaps and developing countermeasures.
Familiarity with HR process best practices and process improvement.
Effective communicator with strong relationship‑building skills across all levels of the plant.
Proven success working cross‑functionally with an emphasis on coaching and performance management.
High energy, multi‑tasking, results‑oriented people manager with business acumen and managerial courage to challenge the status quo.
Strategic mindset with willingness to engage in tactical plant HR activities.
Agility to pivot between compliance, advocacy, counseling, influencing, and directing.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast‑paced work environments.
