Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager supervises and performs an array of functions in his/her facility, including but not limited to receiving and processing flooring material, pulling material to fulfill orders, and OSHA safety and compliance. This person hires, trains, develops, and manages a team of Warehouse Associates.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all warehouse operations.
  • Performs all personnel administration activities, including scheduling staff, assigning tasks, hiring, training, developing, performance evaluations, coaching, and termination processes as needed.
  • Oversees the receiving process of incoming flooring material, including the verification of order accuracy.
  • Manages the preparation and staging of flooring orders for load-out to our subcontracted installers.
  • Maintains warehouse inventory by overseeing cycle counts and leading physical inventory activities; reconciles results to Warehouse Management System.
  • Coordinates with the Inventory Procurement Department to reorder materials and supplies.
  • Delivers material to customer locations as needed.
  • Coordinates with approved recycling/waste removal providers to ensure adequate storage of carpet, recycling and trash.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and company guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintains forklift and warehouse equipment using OSHA guidelines and logs.
  • Forklift Certification – Ensures that staff is trained and certified every 3 years.
  • Work-related Injuries – Collaborates with HR to follow the Company’s work-related injury process.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of warehouse leadership experience, including managing and developing a team.
  • 2 years of inventory control/inventory management experience, including ordering and tracking inventory using a database system.
  • 2 years of forklift experience. Current/prior forklift certification is a plus.
  • Technology savvy — prior experience using a warehouse or inventory database system, as well as Gmail and Google shared drive.
  • Knowledge of proper warehouse safety procedures, as well as warehouse equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to create and manage warehouse best practices.
  • Knowledge of RF scanners or similar.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee may regularly be required to work some evenings. The duties of this position will often require the employee to work in non-temperature controlled warehouse environments which may be dirty, dusty or otherwise uncomfortable.
