Job Overview Oversee and execute all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry for new hires and changes, calculating wages, and handling deductions. This often includes bi‑weekly or weekly processing, with responsibilities for special or off‑cycle payrolls.

Payroll Processing Manage full payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.

Reconciliation and Reporting Reconcile payroll, general ledger accounts, and other payroll-related reports for accuracy. Generate and analyze reports for issues and present findings to management.

Problem‑Solving and Support Serve as a subject matter expert for complex payroll‑related questions from employees and departments, involving issues like benefits, leave, and tax withholding. Research and resolve advanced technical problems.

Timekeeping and Data Management

Investigate and resolve timecard errors.

Address employee queries and troubleshoot timekeeping system issues.

Ensure adherence to company policies and labor laws regarding work hours and overtime.

Validate and reconcile time and attendance data for accurate payroll processing.

Generate and analyze reports on attendance and payroll data for management and HR.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and general accounting principles.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Clear communication skills with employees, managers, and departments.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping software (e.g., ADP, Kronos, SAP).

Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

5+ years of payroll experience.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

PHR or CPP certification would be a plus.
