Job Summary This role supports the Director of Physician Contracting and Affiliations in managing the administrative and operational functions of the Physician Contracting and Affiliations team. The position independently carries out complex and sensitive work in physician contracting, affiliation management, and service agreement oversight for UC Davis Health's internal departments and external partnerships.

The UCDMG manages physician contracts and locums across the School of Medicine, Community Physician Group, and Affiliate Network. The Affiliate Network has 125 physician contracts where physicians provide care in over a dozen Northern California hospitals, clinics, and FQHCs. This position fosters effective working relationships with physicians, departmental leaders, affiliate partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of contracted services and strategic affiliate initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration, public health, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible administrative, contracting, financial, or operational experience in a health care, academic medical center, or clinical practice setting.

Solid demonstrated experience providing healthcare financial services analyses, contracting, service agreement administration, and clinical operational workflows.

Experience monitoring contract deliverables and ensuring service execution according to agreement terms.

Solid demonstrated knowledge of healthcare contracting, service agreement administration, and clinical operational workflows.

Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.

Knowledge of budget development, financial tracking, and operational reporting processes.

Solid understanding of confidentiality, data security practices, and compliance with HIPAA and similar regulations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, leadership, and external partners.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other common administrative software.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in business administration, health administration, public health, or a related field.

Familiarity with physician compensation models for faculty and staff physicians.

Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional projects in a complex health‑care environment, across clinical, information technology, financial and legal channels.

Working knowledge of UC policies and UC Davis Health administrative or contracting processes.

Experience in business development in a clinical health care setting.

Demonstrated experience establishing and utilizing metrics to improve department or program operations.

Demonstrated experience creating, implementing, and improving administrative processes in a healthcare setting.

Department Overview UC Davis Medical Group, under the leadership of the Chief Physician Executive, represents all organized medical group practices of UC Davis Health's primary and specialty care faculty and staff physicians. It collaborates with leadership in the School of Medicine and medical center to set and achieve joint strategic goals across UC Davis Health.

Under the Medical Group, the Physician Contracting and Affiliations team works with providers across Northern and Central California to bring best practices and establish new services at rural hospitals and clinics. The team partners with Strategy experts to lead and execute strategic planning, business development and operational structures necessary to build, expand and operate the Affiliate Network in alignment with the university's and health system's strategic goals.
