Job Summary OpenEye is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to play a key role in our production DevOps Engineering Team. In this individual contributor role, you will drive production-level DevOps tasks, contribute technical expertise, and add significant value to our organization. The ideal candidate is a strong programmer or scripter, excels in working within and mentoring a collaborative team, and operates independently in complex operational and production environments.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will build robust solutions, ensure operational excellence, mentor junior contributors, and lead by example in technical communication, follow-through, and team building. You’ll leverage your deep expertise to improve our DevOps workflows, debug challenging issues, and independently oversee deployments and production systems.
Role and Responsibilities
Architect and maintain highly available AWS-based infrastructure for global video and related services.
Provide architectural recommendations for platform scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines that deliver releases faster and more reliably.
Automate environment provisioning, system updates, and security patch workflows.
Collaborate with developers to containerize workloads and streamline microservice deployments.
Partner with the SRE team to champion advanced monitoring and alerting systems and to define and maintain service-level objectives (SLOs) and ensure they are met consistently.
Architect infrastructure patterns with security, scalability, and compliance in mind, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and future certification readiness.
Assist in production deployments ensuring consistent adherence to compliance and operational procedures.
Lead complex production rollouts and facilitate zero-downtime migrations.
Diagnose live production issues, identify root causes, and ship fixes without delays.
Drive cloud cost optimization by refining resource allocation and scaling strategies.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and technical training.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
At least 5–7 years of DevOps or related experience, including leading technical projects.
Expert-level AWS knowledge, including scaling, networking, security, and automation.
Deep experience with CI/CD systems, infrastructure as code, and monitoring tools.
Proven track record of troubleshooting production systems under pressure.
Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and mentoring.

The pay range for this opportunity is $100,000 - $130,000 annually. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
