Position Summary

We are looking to hire a VP of Accounting as an addition to our senior management team. This person will oversee the accounting functions, including financial reporting, loan accounting, SOC 1 type 2 implementation, external audit oversight, A/P and review/approval of payroll, and tax coordination. The ideal candidate is someone with experience at the VP of Accounting or Controller level, leads an accounting team of at least five, provides regular input to the senior management team and contributes to company strategy. Manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including full footnotes (for annual statements) and accounting guidance on US GAAP treatment (i.e. fair value loan accounting, CECL, etc.). Identify ways to improve existing monthly management reporting to ensure senior leadership has the information they need to make decisions that will enable us to compete more effectively. Enhance internal control framework including SOC 1 type 2 Implementation Supervise the accounting team, including a/p, loan accounting and month end close Develop culture of constantly finding better processes designed to generate timely, accurate and relevant information to the appropriate decision makers. Focus on constant improvement of existing workflows, both inside and outside of accounting. Work with CFO on preparation and tracking of annual budget. Provide meaningful analysis to management to help them focus on the most critical drivers of performance. Leverage the existing internal technology team to prioritize and finalize enhancements that will improve efficiency and accuracy. Managing expense policy and compliance via expense reimbursement process Assist CFO in responding to other various data requests from parent company Requirements

10+ years of experience and possess the following qualifications and experience: CPA Big 4 experience preferred. Mortgage lending (especially business purpose lending experience) a definite plus. Strong understanding of application of current US GAAP guidance as it relates to business purpose lending, specifically focused on loan and debt accounting Experience in management reporting Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining a SOC 1 Type 2 control framework Ability to work with large data sets and advanced excel knowledge Experience with a dimensional general ledger system (i.e. loan level accounting) and overseeing month end close process Excellent problem solver, team-oriented, collaborative. Equally comfortable working individually on solutions, or as part of a cross-functional team. Excellent leadership and communication skills. This is a hybrid position which requires in-office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday. Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $225,000 to $250,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company. What We Offer
