Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our growing Credit team. This role is pivotal in driving sound credit decisions and enhancing underwriting standards across our real estate investment portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of credit risk, real estate finance, and underwriting practices, with a proven ability to lead complex credit evaluations and contribute to credit policy development.

Underwriting of complex business-purpose real estate loans, including DSCR, Fix & Flip, and New Construction.

Conduct in-depth credit analysis of Borrowers, including financial statements, credit history, market conditions, and property-level data.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Credit Committee, Risk, and Operations) to structure deals that align with company risk appetite and client needs.

Present credit packages and recommendations to the Credit Committee with clarity and strategic insight.

Monitor market trends and economic indicators to inform underwriting decisions and risk assessments.

Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance underwriting efficiency and consistency.

Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.

Maintain high productivity while managing a pipeline of complex deals with competing deadlines.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in credit underwriting, with a focus on real estate investment lending.

4+ years of experience underwriting DSCR, Fix & Flip, and New Construction loans.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Familiarity with credit scoring models and underwriting software platforms.

Demonstrated expertise in evaluating complex financial profiles and structuring real estate-backed loans.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess risk and propose creative solutions.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.

High attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools.

This is a hybrid position which requires in-office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday.

Fully remote opportunities are also available, but must reside in the state of California.

Compensation The base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
