Sr Engineer – RTA, Transmission & Substation Protection Analysis provides operational analysis and support to transmission, distribution and substation automatic operations and system faults. The role delivers fault location, guidance on protection conditions, event analysis, power quality investigations, claims support and serves as a single point of contact for operations, field testing and engineering personnel. Extended hours and coverage during storms or emergencies may be required. Primary Duties
Provide fault location information on an immediate basis for all 69kV and above line automatic operations and critical 34kV line operations. Guide transmission and distribution operations and field testing group on system alarm and degraded protection conditions. Review and analyze protective relay event records to determine fault type and protective relay performance, recommending and implementing action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness. Support power quality and claims investigations related to customer complaints and claims department investigations. Utilize PI (SCADA Historian) to observe pre/post event system data and analyze events. Generate Corrective Maintenance work requests to address identified abnormalities and program systematic problem resolution. Provide direction to Operations, Transmission & Substation and Asset Management based on event analysis. Perform CAPE/CYME fault studies and validate lightning strikes in proximity to equipment and event times. Participate in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest. Job Scope

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer. 7+ years of professional engineering experience with deep knowledge in transmission protection analysis. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Proficiency in problem‑solving approaches and engineering theory. Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices unique to the area of expertise. Advanced engineering principles applied to identify and resolve complex issues. Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification. Licensed Professional Engineer. Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels. Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS\/E, Python, PSCAD, MATLAB, etc. Ability to analyze industry‑wide trends and implement enhancements. Benefits
