Job Description Summary We are the makers of possible. BD Interventional develops innovative, life‑enhancing devices in surgical, endovascular, urological, and critical care interventions that meet clinical needs and deliver value to health systems while improving patients’ lives.

Location Central Los Angeles, CA. Preferred location is Downtown LA or Pasadena area.

Responsibilities

Develop thorough knowledge of all products in the Surgical Solutions portfolio.

Present, educate, and provide in‑services on the proper use of BD products to surgeons, operating room staff, and other individuals.

Provide on‑site technical support during procedures to ensure proper use of the products and train physicians and hospital staff.

Maintain detailed knowledge of BD’s products, channels, and distribution methods.

Meet territory sales and profitability goals.

Develop new prospects and establish new customers.

Inform customers of new and current products, backorders, general order status, and pricing structure.

Achieve prompt, mutually satisfactory solutions to customers’ complaints.

Attend customers’ meetings and trade shows with post‑convention feedback.

Inform Regional Manager and Franchise of significant market changes, competitive activity, and customer credit status.

Acquire extensive knowledge of prices, discounts, availability, and competition.

Continually increase knowledge of trends, sales skills, promotion techniques, and product forecasting.

Manage relationships with the Regional Manager, fellow Territory Managers, and customers.

Plan sales calls continuously and organize time for effective coverage of the territory.

Use nurse lectures, journal club meetings, local seminars, resident lectures, hospital displays, and evaluation committee product presentations.

Control expenses within budget and manage available resources.

Maintain open, positive, and productive communication with the sales team, customer service, sales management, and home office associates.

Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with BD Quality Policy.

Report customer complaints in accordance with BD’s complaint procedures.

Develop and maintain a level of excellence in clinical knowledge relevant to the product portfolio.

Support BD Commercial Excellence by complying with daily, weekly, and monthly management rigor focused on growth.

Train on and consistently apply the BD Way of Selling.

Work a flexible schedule and travel to meet surgery customers’ needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 4 years general sales experience; medical sales experience preferred.

Demonstrated successful sales performance required.

Ability to work in an operating room respectfully and tolerate observing surgeries.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Effective communication of complex concepts through clear writing and speaking skills.

Ability to analyze data and present findings for business decision making.

Strong persuasion and influencing skills.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of personnel, physicians, and administrators.

Self‑motivated, takes on additional responsibilities, and balances priorities with minimal direction.

Good judgment and professional behavior.

Effective building and sustaining professional relationships with hospital personnel.

Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to travel up to 80%, including multiple overnights.

Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Valid criminal background satisfactory to BD.

Meet customer/medical facility access requirements and drug screening.

Maintain vendor credentialing.
