Construction Business Development Manager

LG Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our talented LG Builders team! LG Builders is a full‑service construction company powered by collaboration, creativity, and resourcefulness. Our portfolio focuses on hospitality, retail, core and shell, residential, and multi‑family. Role Summary

Reporting into the Managing Partner and working in close collaboration with the VP of Construction and project team for LG Builders, the Business Development Manager identifies, sources, and nurtures new business opportunities. This role generates high‑quality leads that convert to bid invitations and negotiated project opportunities. The ideal candidate has experience building new client relationships with developers, owners, architects, brokers, and other key market influencers in commercial real estate and construction. Lead Generation

Attend trade shows, industry events, and other associations’ meetings to establish relationships with existing clients and prospects. Help develop, manage, and execute sales strategies in target sectors and project types. Identify and initiate contact with potential clients and strategic partners via follow‑up calls and emails from qualified leads, web leads, assigned leads, and industry contacts. Qualify opportunities by nurturing leads through the sales process and tracking relevant sales activities in the CRM pipeline. Provide regular updates to LG Builders management on progress of lead qualification and set appropriate meetings for executives to close the sales cycle. Sales Operation & Administration

Own the maintenance and integrity of the CRM system by ensuring proper use by the salesforce. Track sales pipeline health, monitor deal progression, and support leadership with accurate forecasting reports. Build reporting and provide insights on conversion rates, win/loss ratios, and other KPIs. Analyze data and assist leadership with identifying lessons learned for winning repeat business and referrals. Research and identify sales tools in AI and automation that can assist the salesforce with improving efficiency. Client Relationship Management

Build brand visibility and ensure LG has a strong presence at all industry networking events; assist leadership in prioritizing the highest and best use of our networking initiatives. Prepare and present periodic reviews of target accounts and key client relationships to ensure alignment across the salesforce and leadership teams. Work cross‑functionally as a strategic liaison between marketing, project management and executive leadership throughout the sales cycle. Support leadership with all sales activities and client relationship management by communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications for Success

Established Network is required.

Proven relationships in commercial real estate and construction, with the ability to generate meetings and opportunities from day one. Relevant Industry Background

is a must. Experience at a general contracting company, commercial real estate brokerage, owner’s rep firm, or construction management firm. Network must be directly relevant to at least one of our focus areas: multifamily, retail, restaurant/hospitality, or Chicago core market relationships. Minimum of 5 years in relationship‑driven roles with demonstrated success building and sustaining client partnerships. Skilled in presenting, analyzing data, and developing sales strategies with strong critical thinking lens. Undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional experience) with a compelling career story that demonstrates growth and impact. Active involvement in industry groups, boards, or committees. Background in larger/global firms with structured processes and professionalism, paired with a desire to thrive in the agility and entrepreneurial energy of a smaller company. Strong communication and technical skills; CRM proficiency required, HubSpot experience preferred. Energetic, self‑motivated, and proactive with outstanding initiative. Willingness to travel for 2–3 national industry conferences annually and 1–2 strategic client meetings outside Chicago. What We Offer
