What You Will Do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. This is an opportunity to join Amgen’s Discovery Proteomics Group as a Senior Scientist. In this vital role, you will utilize cutting edge mass spectrometry-based proteomic technologies to advance target discovery and support pipeline programs across Amgen’s therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities

Design, execute, and analyze proteomic experiments to explore pathways relevant to human disease

Identify and implement new proteomic strategies and methodologies to accelerate scientific discovery

Collaborate closely with disease areas and therapeutic development teams to make actionable decisions as a technical and intellectual subject matter expert

Effectively communicate plans, results, and analyses to cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

Master’s degree & 3 years of scientific experience

Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of scientific experience

Associates degree & 10 years of scientific experience

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

PhD or MD, with postdoctoral research experience in the field of mass spectrometry

Technical expertise in proteomic sample preparation workflows, peptide and protein level chromatographic separations, mass spectrometer operation, and bioinformatic analysis of proteomics data

Experience with programming (e.g. in R/Python), Unix/Linux environments, and cloud computing environments for the analysis of proteomic datasets

Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement as evidenced by high impact publications

Ability to work effectively in a highly integrated, collaborative team environment, with excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and a proven track record of producing reliable and reproducible results.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
