Assistant Bureau Chief (ABC) This role is managed by the Bureau Chief and oversees the Licensing Section within the Bureau of Gambling Control.

Assistant Bureau Chief (ABC) responsibilities include:

Plans, organizes, directs, and administers the work of professional staff in each program area.

Participates in the development of goals, policies, and regulations to administer the Gambling Control Act and Tribal-State Gaming Compacts.

Oversees investigations related to the suitability of individuals seeking licensure pursuant to the Gambling Control Act and Tribal-State Compacts.

Represents the Bureau on operational policy issues before the legislature, governmental agencies, top law enforcement administrators, gaming industry representatives, and the public.

Provides consultation, direction, and supervision to Bureau management; prepares performance evaluations for managers, supervisors, professional, technical, and clerical staff.

Monitors and makes recommendations relative to budget expenditures and prepares and implements budget change proposals.
