Business Development Manager- Biologics/Biosafety
Base pay range: $100,000 /yr - $150,000 /yr
As the Business Development Manager, Biologics/Biosafety you will identify and pursue business opportunities with current and new clients in the Southeast territory. You will create a territory plan, participate in sales goal setting and track progress.
Visit prospects and customers to sell and support SGS Life Science Services
Grow market share by winning new customers within the territory
Identify opportunities and close deals
Promote SGS North American network and expertise
Maintain knowledge of SGS analytical capabilities
Participate in strategic decisions for new service opportunities with biotech, pharma, and medical device companies
Execute sales activities including planning, visits, reports, and results
Maintain accurate sales pipeline data
Use customer‑centric selling methodologies
Generate new opportunities via internet, phone, trade shows, market intelligence, and lead sources
Coordinate with labs for handover and execution of new/current business
Arrange and host prospective client visits to North American locations
Network with key players and monitor external market developments
React to business opportunities forwarded by Operations and inform them of progress
Assist in price structure and negotiations; final decisions by Business Manager & Director of Sales
Forward client complaints to appropriate individual and resolve promptly
Review and prepare contracts such as Master Service Agreements
Report on marketplace developments and competitor activities
Forward potential opportunities to other Business Lines as appropriate
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology or related field; business degree acceptable
Sales experience selling CDMO or CRO services for biologics (Required)
Proven track record of sales in NAM pharma/biotech industry (Required)
Experience maintaining a CRM system
Develop and achieve plan to meet sales targets
Customer‑facing experience
Location: Southern California (Required)
