Mantell Associates is partnered with a globally-recognized CDMO specialising in biologics and advanced therapeutic services, who is hiring a dynamic Senior Business Development Manager to strengthen its commercial presence throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. In this role you will identify and drive high-value client engagements, work closely with technical and operational teams, and contribute to strategic growth. Senior Business Development Manager - Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic business development plans targeting biopharma clients for CDMO services including development, manufacturing, and commercialization Identify, qualify, and cultivate new client opportunities, acting as trusted advisor and CDMO ambassador in the market Collaborate with internal teams (Technical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance) to craft tailored proposals, service models, and contract structures that meet client needs and internal capabilities Build and maintain strong relationships with biotech, pharma, and academic institutions across the region; lead negotiations and secure agreements that support revenue and pipeline objectives Monitor market trends, competitor capabilities, client priorities, and emerging technology demands; provide commercial insights that influence service offering evolution Represent the CDMO at industry conferences, regional forums, and partnering events to increase visibility and generate leads Maintain accurate sales pipeline, CRM records, forecasts, and performance reports; engage senior leadership on strategic account activity Senior Business Development Manager - Requirements:
5-8 years of business development or sales experience within CDMO, biotech or service-based pharmaceutical environments Proven ability to secure and close contracts for CDMO services, with experience interacting with biotech or pharmaceutical clients Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate technical CDMO capabilities into compelling client value propositions Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, accustomed to liaising with senior clients and internal stakeholders Based in Washington State (or willing to relocate) with flexibility for regional travel Remain eligible to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship not preferred unless specified) Mantell Associates is a specialist Pharmaceutical and Life Science headhunting firm.
