Position Overview
Associate Director, Commercial Real Estate (Hybrid) – Real Estate Operations
at Washington University in St. Louis. This management level role implements the University’s Strategic Real Estate Plan, oversees on‑campus facilities, and manages the off‑campus commercial property portfolio. The position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Real Estate. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement future plans for university‑owned real estate, including leasing, re‑tenanting, and property management for internal and external customers. Negotiate leases, purchases, and sales of commercial and institutional properties, subject to Real Estate Committee and Board of Trustees review. Oversee asset management of off‑campus real estate assets, including lease administration, maintenance requests, and capital project planning. Assist with acquisition and development initiatives pursuant to the university’s off‑campus real estate strategy. Develop and track an annual financial budget for commercial property operations and prepare future projections. Coordinate departmental activities, prepare and review annual budgets, and respond to staff and departmental needs. Manage employee supervision, including performance reviews and hiring of the Senior Commercial Property Manager and Commercial Property Administrator. Maintain and manage the Yardi database for the commercial property portfolio, ensuring data accuracy and generating performance reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years experience in Real Estate Development, Asset Management, Real Estate Investing, and Property Management/Operations. Experience in an academic setting and/or working with local governments on real estate transactions using development incentives. Strong analytical, budgeting, and financial forecasting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Salary Range
$96,000.00 – $169,300.00 per year Benefits Statement
