$135,000.00 / yr - $160,000.00 / yr

Our established Southern California law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join our Education Law Practice Group in Riverside. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting educational institutions that serve California's students from K-12 through community college levels. The position involves providing comprehensive legal counsel to public and private schools, community college districts, and related educational entities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal guidance to district and school administrators on personnel management matters, including employee discipline, dismissal, and release procedures

Assist clients with California Public Records Act compliance, Brown Act adherence, and conflict of interest prevention and resolution

Represent educational agencies in administrative hearings and legal proceedings

Counsel management teams on employee leave policies and disability accommodation requirements

Support Title IX and Uniform Complaint Officers in managing complaint processes according to applicable laws and policies

Conduct investigations and serve as decision-maker in Title IX cases and other matters involving students and employees

Deliver client training sessions on relevant legal topics and participate in professional conferences and business development activities

Required Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing

4+ years of experience in labor and / or employment law, with preference for candidates with educational or public sector experience

Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities

Strong client relationship management skills

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment

Preferred Qualifications

Litigation and / or administrative hearing experience

Background in conducting workplace investigations

Title IX compliance and case management experience

Previous work with public entities on governance and compliance matters
