Open Rank Dentistry Faculty – DCG – Oral Biology Job Summary: The Department of Oral Biology in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to teach dental students, dental residents and graduate students. This will include development and delivery of head and neck anatomy and/or neuroanatomy lectures, and assisting in gross anatomy laboratory. The faculty member will direct one or more courses. Excellent interpersonal skills required. This position is considered to be on tenure track.

Responsibilities

Teaching: develop and deliver lectures on head and neck anatomy and/or neuroanatomy, assist in gross anatomy laboratory, direct one or more courses.

Research/Scholarship: conduct independent research and collaborate with faculty, develop extramurally-funded research program.

Service: engage in service activities as needed by department, college, institution and scientific community.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in anatomy, neurobiology or related field, and/or MD, DDS, or foreign equivalent.

Productive record of established scholarship of national significance, preferably related to diseases of the head and neck.

Record of didactic instruction.

Demonstrated record of teaching in anatomy or related field; obtaining extramural funding; strong publication record; postdoctoral training.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience in gross anatomy of head, neck, and brain.

Teaching in systematic anatomy.

Experience writing and submitting research funding applications.

Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. Full-time commitment (1.0 FTE). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
