Base pay range The mission of the California Labor Commissioner's Office is to ensure a just day's pay in every workplace in the State and to promote economic justice through robust enforcement of labor laws. By combating wage theft, protecting workers from retaliation, and educating the public, we put earned wages into workers' pockets and help level the playing field for law-abiding employers. This office is also known as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).

Job Description and Duties We are looking for passionate and driven team members who seek to make a difference in the lives of workers and employers through education and enforcement of employment laws. This position is in our Wage Claim Adjudication Unit. Under the supervision of the Deputy Labor Commissioner III (DLC III/Senior Deputy) in the Labor Commissioner’s Office (LCO) Wage Claim Adjudication (WCA) unit, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) will analyze data, generate reports, and conduct compliance reviews by performing a broad range of analytical and specialized evaluative tasks related to the effective administration of the WCA unit, including its labor compliance, investigation, and enforcement of the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) orders and laws covering workers' compensation insurance coverage, wage and hours laws, and other related enforcement responsibilities.
