$75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Senior Human Resources Associate Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid) Position Overview
A top-ranked, woman-owned, bipartisan government relations and strategic communications firm seeks a Senior Human Resources Associate. The ideal candidate brings strong HR expertise—preferably from a PR or government relations firm—and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role supports core HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits, compliance, and policy. Partner with employees at all levels to strengthen our culture and enhance the employee experience. What You’ll Do
Lead full-cycle recruiting, from sourcing to closing, ensuring a positive candidate experience. Partner with hiring managers to design effective talent acquisition strategies and build strong talent pipelines. Coordinate interviews and guide candidates smoothly through the process. Manage the intern program, including recruiting, onboarding, programming, and ensuring an engaging experience that strengthens our talent pipeline. Enhance new hire orientation and employee lifecycle programs to support onboarding, growth, and retention. Help administer employee benefits programs and ensure clarity, compliance, and a positive employee experience. Provide policy guidance to managers and employees; ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Execute recurring HR and people processes with efficiency, consistency, and strong customer service. Develop, analyze, and present HR reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights. Partner with the Chief People Officer to design and implement innovative HR strategies and process improvements. Support employee engagement and foster a culture of excellence through special projects and people-focused initiatives. What You’ll Need to Succeed (Requirements)
3–5 years’ HR and talent acquisition experience – government relations or PR firm preferred. Bachelor’s degree and/or the PHR certification. Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance. Excellent communication, attention to detail, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to analyze data, draw insights, and present findings clearly to leadership. High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
