THE POSITION The
Vice President of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
will lead all aspects of external and internal financial reporting, technical accounting, and accounting policy for a rapidly growing data center enterprise. This position will ensure the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial results while establishing scalable processes to support ongoing expansion and increasing complexity in the business. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader with deep technical accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience navigating the accounting implications of data center development, leasing, and financing transactions. The VP will work cross‑functionally to support growth initiatives, including development, joint ventures, and capital projects, while ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting
Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Oversee the external reporting process, including preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures and management reports for internal stakeholders, lenders and investors.
Drive the quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate and manage the external audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring SOX readiness and compliance.
Partner with FP&A and Treasury to ensure consistency between reported results, budgets and forecasts.
Technical Accounting
Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidation, business combinations, equity method investments and financial instruments.
Evaluate the accounting and reporting implications of complex transactions such as campus accounting, joint ventures, sale‑leasebacks, power purchase agreements and structured financing.
Draft and maintain accounting policies, memos and position papers documenting management’s conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
Monitor new accounting standards and assess their potential impact on the company’s financial reporting.
Provide technical accounting guidance and training to accounting and finance teams.
Policy, Controls and Process Improvement
Develop and implement scalable reporting processes and systems to support the company’s continued growth and operational expansion.
Partner with IT and finance systems teams to enhance ERP and consolidation systems, ensuring data integrity and efficiency in reporting.
Strengthen the control environment and ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all business units.
Support the design and implementation of automation and process improvements within the accounting and reporting functions.
Leadership & Collaboration
Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing financial reporting and technical accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Partner closely with the SVP, Accounting and VP of Corporate Accounting on company‑wide financial initiatives.
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, providing insights on the accounting and reporting impacts of business decisions.
Communicate complex accounting issues clearly and effectively to non‑technical stakeholders, including senior management, investors and board members.

Compensation: $245,000 to $255,000 plus annual bonus potential

MUST‑HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA required, MBA or Master’s preferred.
15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and senior‑level leadership in financial reporting and technical accounting.
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and internal control frameworks (SOX).
Experience in a data center, real estate, REIT or infrastructure environment strongly preferred.
Proven ability to research, interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
Demonstrated success in managing financial statement preparation, audits and technical accounting evaluations.
Strong leadership, project management and communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.
Hands‑on, analytical and detail‑oriented leader capable of driving both strategy and execution.
