Base Pay Range
$123,600.00/yr – $162,300.00/yr
Overview Jacobs is seeking an experienced, high‑energy HVAC Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team within the Advanced Manufacturing Group. In this role you will design, size, and coordinate HVAC systems for heavy‑industrial clients, ensuring schedule, cost, and technical quality targets are met. The position is open at any U.S. location with preference for candidates near a Jacobs office.
Responsibilities
Layout and design of HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
Develop design criteria, including comfort heating and cooling, humidity control, pressurization, and cleanliness requirements for clean‑room applications.
Create conceptual and preliminary design documents: calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
Produce final design documents: specifications, sequences of operation, duct/piping layout, and construction drawings for chilled water, cooling water, and other HVAC systems.
Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and subcontractors, to ensure project integration.
Qualifications
Professional Engineering License.
10+ years of HVAC design experience for industrial facilities.
Thorough knowledge of HVAC design codes and standards.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Adaptability to fast‑paced, deadline‑driven team environments.
Ability to lead a building mechanical team on projects and collaborate with remote discipline team members.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
Experience in designing plumbing/utility systems.
