Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer
Join Jacobs to design high-performance HVAC systems for heavy industrial clients. This role is based anywhere in the United States, with preference for candidates near a Jacobs U.S. office.
Base salary range:
$123,600.00 – $162,300.00

Responsibilities
Layout and design of HVAC systems.
Develop design criteria for HVAC systems including general comfort, precise temperature/humidity control, pressurization, and cleanliness requirements for clean rooms.
Prepare conceptual and preliminary design documents: sizing calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
Prepare final design documents: specifications, operating sequences, duct/piping layout, and construction drawings for chilled water, cooling water, and other systems.
Coordinate with other disciplines and manage project schedules and technical quality.
Qualifications
Professional Engineering License.
At least ten (10) years of HVAC design experience for industrial facilities.
Deep knowledge of codes and standards for HVAC design.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Adaptability to fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Leadership of a building mechanical team and remote collaboration.
Preferred Experience
Software expertise in Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
Design experience in plumbing/utility systems.
