is seeking a

Senior Network Engineer

for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in the

Richmond, VA

area.

*This position is onsite.

Responsibilities

Implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure.

Performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of Network related infrastructure.

Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.

Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)

Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.

Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.

Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.

Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.

Assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.

Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.

Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.

Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.

Must have minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.)

Required Skills

8 Years - Considerable knowledge and hands-on working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points.

8 Years - Considerable hands-on working experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, managing and troubleshooting routers/switches, and WAPS.

8 Years - Demonstrated and hands-on ability to design, install and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks.

8 Years - Considerable direct hands-on experience engineering and design experience in networking industry required.

8 Years - In-depth experience designing installing and troubleshooting local-area and wide-area enterprise networks.

8 Years - Experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards.

8 Years - Experience creating repeatable, reliable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance.

8 Years - Experience performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery.

8 Years - Experience creating network diagrams using industry standard tools such as Visio, etc.

8 Years - Experience with networking features and protocols such as: ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, Etherchannel, HSRP, QoS, multicast, IPsec, etc

Desired Skills

3 Years - Experience working with SDWAN

3 Years - Experience working with network topology related to Cloud

3 Years - Familiarity and experience working with cloud networking
