The
Battery Engineer
will be responsible for the
design, development, and testing
of new and existing battery systems to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performance solutions. What You’ll Do
Design for performance:
Contribute to the development of advanced
cell and battery architectures
that meet rigorous technical and environmental requirements. Model and analyze:
Perform
electrochemical modeling and parameter analysis
to optimize battery design and performance. Collaborate cross-functionally:
Partner with
mechanical and electrical engineers
to ensure proper cell packaging, integration, and manufacturability. Validate performance:
Design and execute
test regimes
to characterize and verify performance at both the cell and system levels. Document and communicate:
Prepare
technical reports
summarizing test results, design changes, and performance characteristics. Drive improvements:
Participate in
sustaining engineering
initiatives to enhance the performance and reliability of existing products. Investigate and solve:
Analyze
field-returned units (RMAs) , determine root causes, and support corrective action plans. Support product growth:
Provide technical input and data to help internal teams position and improve product offerings. What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree
in
Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience
in
battery design, development, or testing
(experience in regulated or high-reliability industries preferred). Strong understanding of
battery fundamentals —impedance, testing methods, and Li-ion behavior and failure modes. Experience with
battery test equipment
and
data analysis . Proficiency in
problem-solving, decision-making, and technical documentation. Working knowledge of
MATLAB
and
SolidWorks
(preferred). Familiarity with
qualification or certification processes
for regulated products (a plus). Detail-oriented , collaborative, and hands-on in approach.
