Come join a growing team in support of the development of next generation battery electronics. We are a leading manufacturer in the design and manufacturing of custom batteries and battery control electronic systems for military and commercial aircraft applications.

The Battery Engineer is responsible for design development and testing of both new and existing battery systems.

What Youll Do

Design for performance : Contribute to the development of advanced cell and battery architectures that meet stringent aerospace requirements.

Model and analyze : Perform modeling and parameter analysis to optimize cell and battery designs.

Collaborate with design teams : Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure proper cell packaging and integration.

Verify and validate : Support the design of test regimes to characterize and validate performance at the cell and battery level.

Document results : Prepare technical reports to communicate test results and performance characteristics to internal teams and external customers.

Drive improvements : Assist in sustaining engineering activities to enhance the performance and reliability of existing battery products.

Investigate failures : Analyze returned battery units (RMAs) identify root causes and contribute to corrective action plans.

Support sales : Provide technical data to Sales & Marketing to help position our products effectively in the market.

Work Environment

Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.

Exposure to standard temperature-controlled office conditions and variable shop floor conditions.

Noise levels may be moderate to high at times.

What Youll Bring

A Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

5 years of experience in battery design development and testing (preferably in an OEM or aerospace setting).

Working knowledge of battery cell fundamentals including impedance testing methods and Li-ion failure modes.

Familiarity with battery test equipment and data analysis practices.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Effective communicator with the ability to document and explain technical work clearly.

Working knowledge of MATLAB and SolidWorks (preferred).

Understanding of FAA regulations and aerospace qualification processes (a plus).

Detail-oriented with a collaborative hands-on approach to engineering challenges.

International Trade Compliance Requirements Due to the potential exposure to ITAR-controlled data and export control regulations the applicant in this role must be a qualified U.S. person as designated under INA 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift documents and work materials up to 40 pounds.

Must be able to listen understand and communicate clearly with personnel at all organizational levels.
