Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape and advance a growing, multidisciplinary oncology program in a dynamic urban health system. The Division Chief will oversee a dedicated team of 9 full-time faculty who subspecialize across disease sites including hematologic malignancies, gynecologic and genitourinary oncology, and sarcoma. In collaboration with the SVP of the Cancer Center and hospital leadership, the Division Chief will be responsible for developing clinical and strategic goals, supporting research and education, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered cancer care. The Cancer Center includes a 30‑chair infusion suite, pediatric oncology, and on‑site, state‑of‑the‑art radiation oncology. Our ACGME‑accredited fellowship program (3 fellows per year) offers rich teaching opportunities, and our robust research infrastructure supports a wide range of clinical trials. Faculty participate in shared call and consult weeks, and multidisciplinary tumor boards are held across all major disease areas with strong engagement from surgery, pathology, and radiology.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with hospital leadership to define scope of services, organizational structure, and staff responsibilities. Monitor oncology advancements and recommend adoption of relevant innovations. Analyze patient demographics, volume, and market trends to optimize service delivery and market share. Develop and manage physician and staff schedules to ensure effective service delivery. Ensure regulatory compliance and address quality of care standards through data‑driven problem solving. Coordinate patient care delivery, including multidisciplinary care conferences. Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and workflows that ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

MD or DO with board certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience in hematology/oncology, with progressive leadership responsibilities. Demonstrated success in academic, clinical, or administrative leadership roles. Experience in staff development, strategic planning, and program expansion. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in oncology. Proven track record of supporting clinical research and teaching. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative leadership skills.

Pay Range

USD $500,000.00 - USD $725,000.00 /Yr.
