Job Description Airbus US
Manufacturing Facility is looking for a MAP Engineer II - A220 to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL. The MAP Engineering Support (Structures) position is responsible for the development and approval of solutions related to aircraft non-conformities which require engineering expertise and delegation to be resolved during aircraft final assembly, flight line and delivery activities. The jobholder is accountable for all engineering activities of primary and secondary aircraft structure (Airframe) linked to non-conformities and concessions raised during the FAL US manufacturing process. The provided solutions must be in line with the requirements of valid SLA content (timeline, quality and completeness of the solution), Airbus Design Principles and continuous Airworthiness requirements.

Your working environment Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges
Establishing improvements of onsite processes; perform MRB audits (MRB = Bombardier Aerospace Material Review Board).
Demonstrate knowledge and experience to obtain delegation from the Design Office to perform engineering activities under MRB.
Execute intermediate to complex engineering assignments across multiple engineering fields.
Research and apply results to solve practical problems; report defects and prepare progress reports.
Recommend changes to plans and specifications for special conditions.
Develop innovative engineering techniques and generate documentation for approval.
Review documents and obtain approvals; may be responsible for small work packages.
Your boarding pass
Bachelor degree with 4 years of related work experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
3 to 8 years of related experience or demonstrated knowledge for the level of experience required.
Knowledge and skill in using indication, alert and recording systems; advanced knowledge of engine, fuel, pneumatic, APU, hydraulic, cabin systems, and aerospace structures.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems; knowledge of configuration management rules.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability; self-motivation and willingness to work across traditional boundaries.
Plans activities on short and mid-term basis; may offer improvements and solutions; can receive technical guidance for unusual features.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant - Preferred.
Able to work second shift; travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Vision, hearing, speaking capabilities adequate for office and manufacturing settings.
Ability to operate office and production equipment; able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs/22 kg occasionally.
Standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and manual dexterity for interacting with equipment and documents.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed; readiness for extended periods away from home.
