Manufacturing IT Systems Support Engineer (KS35424)
Contract, onsite position in Liberty, NC.
Our client, an international IT service & solution provider, seeks a skilled Manufacturing IT Systems Support Engineer experienced in integrations with MES/PLC/SCADA/ERP and knowledgeable of Siemens MOM and Opcenter. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to create scalable, user-friendly applications that meet operational and strategic needs.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the main IT contact for plant operations using MOM/Opcenter.
Manage day-to-day IT support, incidents, requests, and changes.
Lead major issue resolutions and ensure preventive actions are followed.
Plan and apply updates or patches to MOM/Opcenter systems and integrations.
Communicate technical changes clearly to non-technical teams.
Create weekly/monthly reports on system performance, issues, and user feedback.
Share key updates with plant managers and leadership, highlighting risks and progress.
Lead continuous improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.
Measure improvement impact (e.g., reduced downtime, improved quality, cost savings).
Standardize procedures while ensuring compliance.
Lead the support team by setting goals, mentoring, and encouraging professional growth.
Build a positive, ethical, and collaborative team culture.
Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to provide timely and effective IT support.
Identify ways to enhance automation, transparency, and production processes.
Qualifications and Skills
5+ years in IT operations/service management, including on-site manufacturing support and application management for MOM/MES or relevant domain.
5+ years experience in integrations with MES/PLC/SCADA/ERP and knowledge of Siemens MOM and Opcenter.
Demonstrated leadership of teams delivering technical support and service improvements in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to drive root-cause and preventative actions.
Excellent communication and reporting skills—ability to communicate clearly to management, users, and peers.
Proficiency with ticket systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with web-based business tools.
Hands‑on or solid understanding of application development methodologies and DevOps practices supporting reliable releases.
Physical Requirements May be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift 10-25 pounds, and use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and hearing.
Other duties assigned depending on various project requirements.
