Our Residential division manages four luxury properties: The Waycroft (Arlington, VA), Park Van Ness (Washington, DC), The Kennedy-Warren (Washington, DC), Lyon Place (Arlington, VA), and The Milton at Twinbrook Quarter, with Hampden House coming in 2025. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to ensure resident satisfaction. Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic assists the Chief Engineer in maintaining the property by handling resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in HVAC, appliances, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, as well as managing turnovers and renovations. Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance on buildings and grounds to keep the complex in good repair and appearance Complete work orders promptly and professionally Process service requests and perform scheduled maintenance Handle turnovers and renovations of apartments Install, troubleshoot, and repair appliances, outlets, switches, with electrical knowledge Perform carpentry repairs, including door and window installation and repairs Inspect grounds at night to check outside lighting Conduct preventative maintenance such as HVAC filter replacement, fan coil cleaning, and smoke detector battery replacement Perform snow and ice removal as required Inspect fitness equipment and report repairs Maintain own tools for work Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer Qualifications:
Proficiency in English, with the ability to understand and give instructions Organized and clean work environment Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and plumbing systems Punctuality and reliability Availability for emergency on-call work Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 60 lbs., work at heights up to 25 feet Stand for long periods, use hands and fingers for detailed work Move and manipulate objects, react quickly, see details, hear sounds, and perform physical activities for extended periods Experience & Education:
Minimum 2 years as a Maintenance Technician or in engineering High School Diploma HVAC Certification, Universal CFC Certification, Pool Operator’s License, Valid Driver’s License Benefits:
