Summary of Job Duties:

The Nurse Educator will assist and lead in health events and education, project management, development, and implementation of assigned tasks associated with healthcare-based grant-funded projects led by the South Central Telehealth Resource Center (SCTRC), UAMS Institute for Digital Health and Innovation (IDHI) and BioVentures. The Nurse Educator will support activities associated with the Delta Maternal Outreach and Transformational Health Education Resource (Delta MOTHER) grant. Delta MOTHER focuses on improving health outcomes through education, training, outreach, and preventive health services by targeting social determinants of health like community context and healthcare access. Delta MOTHER is a collaboration between UAMS BioVentures, UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation, UAMS Academic Pathways and Workforce Partnerships, and the South-Central Telehealth Resources Center, including its satellite sites with Jefferson School of Nursing and UAMS Regional Campus. The project aims to increase preventive health services use among disadvantaged families, improve healthcare provider knowledge and confidence, and reduce health disparities by enhancing social and community support.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.

Bachelors degree in Nursing and RN License plus 5 years experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience OR

Associate degree plus 7 years of experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Established ability to communicate targeted information to outside groups or agencies in a professional manner, utilizing varied and adaptable presentation methods. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to lead within a rapidly changing environment.

Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously, maintain a high level of organization managing large volumes of information, and balance multiple priorities, tasks, and varying workloads within a deadline.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must have experience using MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience in Maternal-Child health.

Community health knowledge

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

Facilitate and host outreach events.

Ensure accurate data collection at health screening and outreach activities.

Provide and monitor preventative health screenings during events.

Assist in evaluating program effectiveness.

Develop and manage tools to measure educational and outreach impact.

Collaborate with staff to analyze data and identify improvement areas.

Create culturally sensitive health education materials and modules.

Identify guest speakers for live education and contribute to online content development.

Ensure healthcare provider education and community outreach align with program objectives.

Coordinate project teams to plan, develop, and execute critical program activities.

Participate in operational discussions related to grant activities.

Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses of rural sites.

Assist in developing tools to identify system gaps.

Contribute to program development and education planning.

Analyze and recommend improvements for the educational environment as outlined in the grant.

Other duties as assigned.

Support additional responsibilities as required to meet program goals.
