Responsibilities
Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under supervision of a pharmacist. Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within the guidelines of company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel; train, coach, and manage performance; make decisions regarding discipline and termination as appropriate. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving complaints, and answering non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience; develop relationships and promote services to improve the customer experience. Assist the pharmacist in delivering patient care, including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, and verification where allowed by law; support health services such as vaccines and health screenings as permitted by law. Delegate and assign non-clinical tasks in the pharmacy, ensuring timely completion and accountability for workflow efficiency. Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies; manage daily pharmacy workflow and schedule; ensure proper inventory and security of equipment and supplies. Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies and participate in safety and quality programs to support error prevention and continuous improvement. Support store and pharmacy management in improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service; participate in community outreach and off-site immunization activities as directed. People & Performance Management
Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions; follow policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Handle hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of pharmacy technicians; monitor training completion and adherence to policies. Identify knowledge gaps and support team members with training or learning modules; ensure licensures, registrations, and certifications are active and compliant. Training & Personal Development
Maintain PTCB certification or state certifications; pursue ongoing healthcare knowledge and professional development; follow performance improvement plans as required. Seek feedback and leverage mentorship to enhance performance. Communication
Communicate with the pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers or other stakeholders; participate in store/pharmacy meetings and weekly check-ins. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting. English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations). Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
