Under supervision, positions in this title serve in different capacities. As Pharmacy Technician, assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures; assist in the distribution of medications; performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintain inventory levels. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas. Assists the pharmacy department in the preparation of claims for reimbursement and obtaining authorizations for prescription medications dispensed from the department's outpatient pharmacies according to established procedures; performs assigned operational duties in a scheduled area. This position also has leadership responsibility that involve coordinating work assignments, schedules, coaching and mentoring other staff. Responsibilities
As Pharmacy Technician, assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions, maintains inventory, and supports operational duties in the assigned areas. Assists in claims preparation for reimbursement and obtaining authorizations for prescription medications. Provides leadership by coordinating work assignments, schedules, and coaching/mentoring other staff where applicable. Minimum Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations. Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills. Strong detail and organizational skills to sort, file and retrieve information. Demonstrated ability to manage assigned workload within deadlines. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proven ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences. Preferred Qualifications
Computer experience and accurate data entry skills. Cash handling experience. Bilingual. SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $64,436 - $64,436 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $30.86 - $30.86. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
