Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a X‑Ray Technologist, FGP – Riverhead. In this role the successful candidate, under the direction of a radiologist, operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Job Responsibilities

Operates radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered according to department protocols.

Prepares patients for exam using proper positioning/immobilization and gives proper instructions throughout.

Practices effective radiation protection by utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible and monitors exposure.

Verifies all images are transferred to PACS in a timely manner and accuracy of the Radiology Information System.

Assists in the care and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by infection control policy and procedures.

Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum and performs quality assurance image review with students.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma.

Associate’s Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

New York State Radiologic Technology License . A New York State Radiologic Technology Permit can be accepted in lieu of receiving NYS License.

Must become registered before expiration of temporary permit.

Strong communication (written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Thorough knowledge of radiography equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

1–2 years of radiologic technology experience.

Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
