CT Technologist – IV Cert, FGP – Riverhead

Position Summary Under the direction of a Radiologist, the CT Technologist operates Computed Tomography equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images. The incumbent performs procedures according to established standards and practices without constant technical supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Operates CT imaging equipment to produce quality images as ordered according to department protocols. Produces quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Instructs and supervises Radiography students in clinical practicum. Works with Radiography students in completing exams. Performs QA image review with students.

Assists in the care and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure. Maintains proper environment of care. Follows WUH infection control policy and procedure. Initiates Standard Precautions when required.

Accurate utilization of the Radiology Information Systems. Verifies proper exam was completed, amount of contrast (if used) is correct, and proper code is attached. Arrives and completes procedures in a timely fashion.

Proper and timely utilization of the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation. Verifies all images are transferred to PACs in a timely matter.

Practices effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible. Monitors exposure and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients.

Prepares patient for exam regarding patient preparation, positioning immobilization, and instructions throughout.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must be a Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist License. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in CT required within one (1) year of Hire or transfer. New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification, (Part 89-Section89.40) required within one (1) year of Hire or transfer. 1 - 2 years In Radiologic Technology. Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology program or related Health field. 1 - 2 years In CT. Thorough knowledge of CT equipment.

Salary Range NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $107,389.19 - $118,625.19 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
