Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an MRI Technologist, FGP - Riverhead. In this role, under the direction of a radiologist, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and perform procedures according to established standards and practices, including patient identification, safety standards and completion of required forms before allowing a patient to leave the zone area.

Job Responsibilities

Accurately utilize the PACS to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimal exceptions.

Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and complete exams in a timely fashion.

Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies; report any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.

Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum; work with the radiography student to perform exams and evaluate images.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Operate MRI equipment to capture diagnostic images of specific body areas/parts as ordered.

Prepare and position or immobilize patients properly and provide clear instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam; ensure image quality meets departmental SOP guidelines.

Practice safety protocols for patient and employee safety in the magnetic field.

Minimum Qualifications Technical Diploma Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiology or imaging services. New York State Radiologic Technologist license or temporary permit. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a radiology program or related health field. 1‑2 years MRI technologist or training experience.

Salary Transparency NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements: $107,389.19 – $118,625.19 annually. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other compensation.
