This is a full-time, exempt, leadership position with a flexible day shift schedule, Monday-Friday. This position qualifies for Leadership Time Off and annual incentive bonus programs. We are offering a hiring bonus of $10,000 and relocation assistance for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Unit Information
The 7S Surgical Oncology Unit (7S) is staffed and operational 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The RN Manager will be responsible for managing approximately 70 staff members to support this 24 bed unit. 7S provides post-operative care using a multidisciplinary model. Together with an interdisciplinary team, caregivers meet surgical oncology patients\' post-operative physical, mental, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Nurses educate patients and their families on new cancer diagnoses, postoperative changes, and post-discharge care using available resources. 7S nurses are trained to take specialty surgeries that are required to be on the Surgical Oncology Unit. 7S nurses provide comprehensive care and support for complex post-operative patients, including, but not limited to, Whipples, pancreatic resections, radical neck dissections, new airways (tracheostomy/laryngectomy), esophagectomies, liver resections, bariatric cases, and deep inferior epigastric artery flaps. They are accountable for the 24/7 operations of their defined unit(s). The Nurse Manager is accountable for the quality of care delivered and outcomes of areas under their leadership. The Nurse Manager establishes an environment where healing and wellness are optimized and the core values of the organization are realized for both our patients and caregivers. The Nurse Manager leads effective care delivery through strong caregiver engagement, wise use of resources, and compassionately holding others accountable for their behaviors and actions. The Nurse Manager assembles and develops effective teams of caregivers and leads these teams in a complex and changing environment. The Nurse Manager establishes and sustains collaborative inter-professional relationships in service to Providence Health & Services (PH&S) strategic plans. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License 5 years Nursing with experience in progressive leadership roles. Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of Supervisory or greater level work experience in a union environment 2 or more years of Medical Surgical bedside care Master's Degree in Related field. Coursework/Training: Formal coursework in management, finance, and other administrative subjects.
