Conway Behavioral Health Hospital . **Purpose Statement** Responsible for oversight and management of the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department. **Essential Functions** - Maintain department productivity, quality, and efficiency for all processes within the department. - Lead and direct health information management services across the facility. - Oversee data collection, storage, retrieval, filing, and retention of medical records/data. - Audit records and data for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Review results with medical staff, nursing, and clinical staff. - Maintain approved levels of security and confidentiality of records/data. - Interview, select, train, and orient new employees to the department. - Supervise medical records staff, coordinating schedules, delegating work assignments. - Interface with legal counsel regarding medical records content. - Oversee and complete coding according to ICD and CPT classifications. **Other Functions** Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. **Education/Experience/Skill Requirements** - High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. - Registered Record Administrator certification preferred. - At least 2 years' experience managing a medical record department. - 1-2 years of behavioral health experience preferred. - Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and DSM IV coding systems. **Licenses/Designations/Certifications** - Additional regulatory requirements as specified. **Note:** Management reserves the right to modify duties as needed.
