Overview

Airworthiness Certification Engineer – Avionics and Mission Systems. Bell is developing advanced aviation programs including the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), Bell 525 Relentless, Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), and High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL). The Airworthiness Certification Engineer is responsible for establishing and managing compliance with joint Bell–USG aircraft airworthiness requirements on military programs. This role involves organizing, planning, and completing military airworthiness certification/qualification objectives throughout the lifecycle of the product and working closely with customers and subcontractors. Responsibilities

Performs technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development and negotiation of airworthiness certification plans, bases of certification, means of compliance, and other certification activities for complex total systems with IPTs as well as customer counterparts Reviews and coordinates with other airworthiness engineers as well as internal engineering disciplines across the total system (design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, disposal) Performs functional and process analyses, requirements allocation and definition studies to translate customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements, ensuring airworthiness objectives are realized throughout the product lifecycle (e.g., Airworthiness Releases, Type certification, continued airworthiness, operations, airspace integration) Collaborates with IPTs and USG authority representatives to tailor Airworthiness Qualification Specifications, focusing on Avionics Maintains airworthiness evidence/artifacts in support of Airworthiness Releases and continued airworthiness Coordinates with the Airworthiness Manager, Chief Engineer and Airworthiness Associate Tech Fellow to manage customer airworthiness demands and achieve milestone events A strong background in Avionics is highly desired Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role

Military airworthiness qualification/certification and/or flight/component test experience is preferred; civil certification experience is acceptable Experience developing Airworthiness Certification Plans and Airworthiness Certification Bases (e.g., AQSs, TACC, MACC) Experience with military airworthiness authorities (e.g., SRD, NAVAIR, AFLCMC EN-EZ) is desired Military aircraft development or modification experience on ACAT programs is desirable Familiarity with DoD guidance such as MIL-HDBK-516C or AMACC is a plus Design or Systems Engineering experience in Avionics, Air Vehicle Systems, Mission Payload Integration, or Flight Technology Experience with domestic and international UAS/RPAs airworthiness authorizations is a plus Experience producing or evaluating evidence for airworthiness certification/qualification Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is preferred Excellent communication to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and leadership What You Need To Be Successful

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Aeronautical Science (or other Math/Science degrees with relevant experience) 5 years of experience in an aerospace avionics discipline (electrical experience will be considered) Minimum of 2 years of experience in military airworthiness qualification programs or civil certification programs is a plus Ability to gain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance Inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate What We Offer You In Return
