Overview
The role is for a DMU (Digital Mock-Up) Design Engineer with strong CATIA V5 and PLM experience to support the development of advanced aircraft systems. Responsibilities include CAD assemblies, installation space management, collision analyses, and validation of design feasibility within the aircraft environment. Base pay
Base pay range:
$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Develop and update
Digital Mock-Ups
based on parts lists and detailed designs. Perform
3D data quality checks , ensuring compliance with design criteria and integration standards. Conduct
BOM-to-3D model comparisons , identifying gaps and supporting accurate parts lists. Execute
static and dynamic collision analyses
using CATIA / Teamcenter to validate functionality and mountability. Assess
installation and maintenance feasibility , including accessibility, installation sequences, and compliance with aircraft constraints (aisle width, fuselage geometry, monuments, etc.). Prepare and present findings to project teams, OEMs, and certification authorities. Support design teams by recommending modifications and contributing to
prototype preparation . Create
simplified 3D models and drawings
for OEM/customer delivery while protecting IP and meeting file-size requirements. Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma (engineering degree preferred). 3–5 years of experience in
mechanical design / DMU engineering . Proficiency in
CATIA V5
(mandatory). Experience with
PLM tools
(Teamcenter, Enovia, Agile, etc.). Familiarity with
aerospace documentation and configuration control systems
is a plus.
