Land Development Supervising Engineer

to lead and manage diverse land development and public works projects. We offer a competitive salary with bi-annual step increases up to a top salary step of

$159,203

annually. Key Responsibilities

Supervise, assign and evaluate the work of engineers and technicians on complex private development projects. Review and approve infrastructure, grading, storm drain, and building plans for compliance with county, state, and federal regulations. Evaluate critical technical reports, including drainage studies and Water Quality Management Plans, ensuring environmental and safety standards. Represent the County with internal teams and external agencies and Developers to process Planning and building applications to ensure regulatory compliance with County standards, the Planning Commission, and relevant State laws. Travel to various sites throughout the County is required; a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided at time of hire. Mileage reimbursement is available. Physical:

This position requires: frequent sitting; occasional walking, standing, bending, squatting; fine manipulation; frequent reach or work below shoulder level; near/far vision; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; occasional work near equipment on uneven surfaces; occasional exposure to dust, gas, toxic materials, noise, and temperature/humidity extremes; occasional use of protective equipment. Must hold current status as a registered Professional Civil Engineer with the State of California. Meet one of the following options: Option 1

— Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience as a land development engineer, civil engineer or related field. Option 2

— Education: Forty-five semester (68 quarter) units in civil engineering or closely related field. Experience: Four (4) years as a land development engineer or related field. Applicants must provide a list of completed coursework. Option 3

— Experience: Five (5) years as a land development engineer or related field. Note:

Degree equivalency evaluations may be required for degrees completed outside the U.S. A Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program is highly desirable. Application Procedure
