The Assistant Director for the UCR College Corps Program plays a vital leadership role in advancing the University’s commitment to student success, civic engagement, and community impact. Reporting to the College Corps Director, the Assistant Director supports the daily operations and long-term development of a statewide service-learning initiative that places undergraduate Fellows in community-based roles across the focus areas of Education, Food Insecurity, and Climate Action. This position manages a portfolio of Fellows and site partnerships, ensuring all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, and supervision are carried out with excellence. The Assistant Director coordinates targeted outreach campaigns, facilitates orientations and professional development sessions, and serves as a primary liaison to community partners. Through site visits, ongoing communication, and compliance monitoring, the Assistant Director ensures placement sites meet program standards and Fellows receive the support necessary to achieve their service and academic goals. Overall, this position is central to ensuring the success of the UCR College Corps program. By managing operations, strengthening partnerships, and supporting Fellows, the Assistant Director helps UCR deliver on its mission of preparing students for future careers while addressing pressing community challenges. The full salary range for Assistant Director for the UCR College Corps Program is $53,100 - $89,700 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $62,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of Fellows and site partnerships, ensuring recruitment, onboarding, training, compliance, and supervision are carried out with excellence. Coordinate targeted outreach campaigns, facilitate orientations and professional development sessions, and serve as a primary liaison to community partners. Conduct site visits, maintain ongoing communication, and monitor compliance to ensure placement sites meet program standards. Provide Fellows with support to achieve their service and academic goals; central to ensuring the success of the UCR College Corps program. Help manage operations, strengthen partnerships, and support Fellows to advance the program’s mission. Assist the Director in decisions regarding allocation of funds for grant objectives (as applicable). Requirements
Educational Requirements Associate degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Continuing education in related field. 4 - 7 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of federal/state compliance requirements for service programs, including AmeriCorps or other grant-funded initiatives. Strong skills in building and maintaining community partnerships, including nonprofits, schools, or public agencies. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate responsibilities effectively, while fostering collaboration and teamwork in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Additional Information
