Overview
Patient Access Liaison Actimmune (Rare Disease) - Chicago IL. This is a field-based role supporting patients prescribed ACTIMMUNE, providing logistical and educational assistance to patients, caregivers, and office staff to address barriers to medication access and improve patient adherence. The position collaborates with internal teams to educate on navigating insurance processes and accessing treatment.
What you will do
Provide home-based demonstrations on proper use of medication, including self-injection techniques.
Educate patients and caregivers about ACTIMMUNE patient services, including product support, dosing/administration, reimbursement services, and other education as needed.
Provide reimbursement education and support to physician offices with emphasis on Amgen By Your Side reimbursement services.
Obtain written opt-in and consent waivers for the patient support program; maintain routine and proactive patient contact and respond to specific requests.
Educate patients about insurance options to ensure continuity of care; assist with logistical challenges with insurance and pharmacies.
Respond promptly to patient and family questions; connect eligible patients with financial assistance programs and external support programs as needed.
Collaborate with Safety and PV; report adverse events and product complaints through medical information.
Coordinate with case managers and the home office commercial team; adhere to compliance guidelines and company policies.
Represent Amgen at external meetings and work with internal teams including Case Management, Reimbursement, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Sales & Marketing.
Travel up to 75%, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
Minimum Education Required High School/GED
Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree AND 2 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement Or Master’s degree AND 4 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement Or Bachelor’s degree AND 6 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish & English preferred.
Orphan or Rare Disease experience preferred.
Experience directly supporting patients preferred.
Account management/institutional experience preferred.
Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements.
Adherence to internal and OIG Compliance guidelines.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
