Advanced Practice Provider needed to provide medical care and treatment within established scope of nursing practice as assigned by and under the direction of collaborating physician. Employee will contribute to multiple ongoing research projects focused on the epidemiology, diagnosis, management, and/or prevention of STIs and HIV. Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Salary Range: $96,116.80 - $124,966.40. Requirements and Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing with either a Family NP, Women's Health NP, or Adult Primary NP certification, or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing or licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required. Responsibilities
Provide medical care and treatment within the established scope of practice in the research setting as assigned by the collaborating physician or under supervision of a Board Certified Physician (as applicable). Coordinate plan of care, discharge and specialty referrals to meet the age-specific needs of patients. Coordinate and participate in health care education for patients, families, and other health care providers as needed. Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments; interpret, analyze and evaluate patients’ medical records and data. Perform and/or assist the physician with procedures per collaborative agreement. Coordinate and participate in performance improvement activities. Serve as liaison between patient and health care provider; ensure direct communication for consultation and referral when needed. Working Arrangement
