Job Description - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - UAB Sexual Health Clinic – Days (T229474) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - UAB Sexual Health Clinic – Days - (T229474) Responsibilities
Provide medical care and treatment within established scope of nursing practice as assigned by and under the direction of a collaborating physician. Contribute to multiple ongoing research projects focused on the epidemiology, diagnosis, management, and/or prevention of STIs and HIV. Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments, interpret and evaluate patient medical records and data; serve as liaison between patient and health care provider; coordinate plan of care, discharge and specialty referrals as appropriate to meet age-specific needs. Coordinate health care education for patient, family and other health care providers as needed. Perform and/or assist the physician with procedures per collaborative agreement and participate in performance improvement activities. Qualifications
Master\'s degree in Nursing with Family NP, Women\'s Health NP, or Adult Primary NP certification, or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with CRNP Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing or licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners with PA-C certification by the NCCPA. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on the unit/department. Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm Salary Range: $96,116.80 - $124,966.40 Primary Location
