Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Commissioning Project Engineer, AMER-Central ACx. A Commissioning Project Engineer (CxPE) supports the delivery of data center capacity through managing project milestone auditing, calibration, and commissioning execution for new construction and Capital Improvement Projects (CIPP). This position is part of a career development program, which aims to develop the CxPE into a Commissioning Engineer (CxE) through a three-phase mentoring program. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key job responsibilities include: Manage project milestone auditing and calibration with partner teams Create and maintain Procore tooling for project setup and tracking Develop and implement Modeled Change Management (MCM) Manage commissioning vendor (CxA) relationships and deliverables Track and report project metrics and observations Create Scope of Work (SOW) documents Support commissioning execution for Phase 1 and Follow-on Room (FOR) projects Coordinate with stakeholders across data center regions Physical Requirements include: Walk job sites in uneven terrain Work at heights and from ladders Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more Work in a noisy environment Work in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration with potential for night and weekends Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field, or relevant discipline work experience Strong project management and organizational abilities Proficiency in project tracking and reporting tools Preferred Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook required; advanced knowledge of SharePoint (or similar) preferred Ability to read construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.) Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
