Location: Houston, TX

Full-Time | Hybrid Flexibility

Our client, a leading civil engineering consulting firm, is seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Project Manager to join their growing Public Infrastructure team in Houston. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of impactful municipal and transportation projects while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering design tasks on a variety of public infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage, utilities, and site improvements.

• Prepare and oversee the development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and technical reports.

• Coordinate with public agencies and municipalities to ensure compliance with local and state standards.

• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.

• Conduct and review design analyses related to grading, drainage, paving, water, and sanitary systems.

• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews for technical accuracy and consistency.

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical oversight for junior engineering staff.

• Engage in client communication, proposal development, and business development activities to expand public sector relationships.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

• 6+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on public infrastructure (roadway, drainage, or municipal projects).

• Experience working with TxDOT, City of Houston, Harris County, or local municipalities preferred.

• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and utility design principles.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation; familiarity with ArcGIS is a plus.

• Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate teams, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to prepare technical reports, design documents, and project proposals.
