Base pay range: $31.33/hr - $42.60/hr. This range is provided by the State of New Hampshire and the actual pay will be based on skills and experience. A Trainee Status option is available at a reduced rate of $30.02 per hour with qualification requirements noted below. Organization and Role Context

Department of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance, 7 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. Position #9T3241. The role administers state and federal transportation programs and provides transportation system analysis, technical support, and GIS training for the Bureau and other agencies. Responsibilities

Administers the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) program to meet federal requirements. Coordinate with and provide technical assistance for transportation asset management and inventory systems to other bureaus and offices within the Department. Manage complex GIS transportation projects/initiatives including scope, development, implementation, maintenance Efforts, and project timelines. Develop transportation applications, processes, and solutions for complex analysis using SQL, GIS tools, scripts, and Microsoft Office to support GIS users and department needs, including desktop and web-based solutions. Develop customized GIS transportation applications and processes to support department needs. Provide technical assistance and training for basic and advanced GIS usage. Monitor and evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to meet bureau/department goals. Evaluate and report on hardware and software availability for new applications. Supervise employees in the work unit to ensure high-quality technical and professional performance. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in engineering with four years of post-baccalaureate civil engineering experience, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering with six years of post-baccalaureate civil engineering experience, or Associate’s degree in engineering/engineering technology with six years of engineering experience at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I, plus two additional years in a related Engineering Technician role. License/Certification:

Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in New Hampshire or in another state with licensure to be obtained in NH within one year. Licensure must be in Civil, Civil Highway, Geo Technical, or Structural Engineering. A valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record are required. Special Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles; specialized computer training; software programming skills (VB.NET); ability to apply knowledge and train others; ability to communicate complex technical material both orally and in writing. Special Requirements:
