Job Summary This position provides senior-level engineering expertise for the site, leading equipment design and selection across departments in industrial and pharmaceutical settings. The employee will build and maintain utility network simulations to inform investment decisions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain site-wide utility simulation models for capacity planning and site growth.
Lead pharmaceutical process equipment design, including skid-based systems for mixing, filtration, sterilization, etc.
Create and enforce technical standards for equipment procurement, managing over $10M in annual spend.
Collaborate with automation engineering to integrate automation strategies into equipment and process designs.
Mentor junior engineers in core disciplines to build internal expertise.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, environmental, and safety regulations; contribute to SOPs, investigations, and quality documentation.
Drive engineering excellence to reduce costs, downtime, and reliance on external vendors.
Requirements
B.S. in Engineering required; M.S. preferred (Chemical Engineering strongly preferred).
Minimum 12 years in engineering, with expertise in chemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial equipment design and procurement.
Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, instrumentation used in chemical and pharmaceutical processes.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and drug delivery technologies is strongly preferred.
Ability to manage tasks independently, resolve technical challenges, and lead projects.
Proven track record of implementing new technologies and instrumentation.
Knowledge of safety protocols, PPE, and hazardous chemicals handling.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to clearly communicate technical information internally and externally.
Physical ability to sit, stand, reach, and distinguish colors for extended periods.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
