Role Purpose The purpose of the DCS Engineering role is to support the needs of the plant. The role utilizes data and resources to lead recommendations and implement decisions for improvement steps required to meet the goals for the site.

Responsibilities

Ensure EH&S policies and procedures, as they relate to assignments, are followed and documented. This includes strict adherence to management of change, risk assessments, contractor management, and permission to perform work on site.

Provide technical assistance to the site (e.g., increase plant availability, reduce costs, debottlenecking, quality improvement, etc.). Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks or eliminate obstacles to improvements.

Monitor, track, and report critical success factors as required to satisfy goals or management requests.

Work with operations and maintenance on projects involving plant assets to ensure success, including commonality of spares, similar equipment, and training for new installations.

Interface with internal and external resources to meet and report on specified goals.

Develop understanding of existing processes and workflows, and explore emerging technologies for system enhancements.

Create Work Orders (WO) for scheduled equipment needs to improve safety, quality, and reliability.

Support audits and participate in improvement activities such as 5S, KPIs, Root Cause analysis, etc.

Perform other activities as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 5+ years’ relevant experience in the chemical industry.

Compliance with environmental and safety regulations, with a focus on environmental impact and safety of high-risk operations.

Strong communication, planning, organizing, and documentation skills.

Proven success in continuous improvement projects.

Knowledge of plant processing, equipment, and multi-disciplinary engineering principles. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and SAP is a plus.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizens, TPM, etc., is advantageous.

Understanding of process control systems, optimization techniques, and integration of instrumentation controls.

Ability to identify opportunities for supply improvements, reliability, and throughput enhancement.

Basic financial knowledge relevant to project development.

Ability to work with technology teams and fundamental knowledge of DCS, PLCs, and instrumentation controls.
